Anne Neilson
Anne Herring Neilson began her career with a successful pottery business - Herring Designs, Inc. - from 1989 to 1997. After a brief interlude from the business to more closely focus on her family, she rekindled her passion for art in oil painting in 2003. Since that time, Anne has immersed herself in her life-long dream to become a successful artist. "Have camera will travel" has been her motto as she captures the natural beauty of familiar scenes to which people relate.
Anne's repertoire includes nautical scenes gleaned from a sailing trip around Martha's Vineyard to French country scenes captured on canvas in Provence, France. Whether it is a quaint white steepled church, a country farmhouse and a barn, or a bowl of deliciously appetizing fruit, she employs an artistic flair for color and light that she considers a gift from God. She has further developed as an artist by employing repetition, practice and study. She has studied under renowned Charlotte artist Andy Braitman, and has taken workshops from highly acclaimed California Plein-Air artist Camille Przewodek, Connie Winters, Jove Wang and portrait artists Joanette and Cedric Egeli.
Chosen by the Charlotte Symphony for their 75th Anniversary Spirit of the Symphony Award, Anne Neilson's Angel Series original oil paintings are stunning representations of her artistic flair for color and light. Now sought out and appreciated by discerning art collectors, her work continues to grow in value and critical acclaim.
Anne lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband and their four children.
